Michaela Cook is one of Australia’s most internationally recognisable and trusted multi-platform media personalities. Also known by her musician stage name, Micks, Michaela has a skillset spanning award-winning video production, No.1 charting songwriting, broadcast television presenting and hosting, commercial acting, charity ambassadorships and social media content creation. Michaela has been building credibility and trust in her unique media voice since 2015.

Although primarily known as a country music artist, Michaela has collaborated across multiple music genres, including a Top 10 European Dance single and a Mumbai-based Bollywood/Pop project. These collaborations, supported by international radio airplay, have expanded Michaela’s audience far beyond Australia.

 

For over a decade, Michaela has used her platform to champion social and animal welfare causes, including a 10-year tenure as an RSPCA Media Ambassador.

 

Amid the pandemic, Michaela launched the web series Micks Steps In to spotlight local tourism. The series exploded online and has since evolved into a major content pillar, leading to international collaborations, including an official partnership with the City of Manchester and notably, Manchester United Football Club.

 

In 2025, she added MC and Event host to her services, debuting as MC for Australia’s largest Multicultural Expo and Migrant Awards Ceremony at Brisbane City Hall. Michaela also works closely with the Federation of Indian Communities Queensland and the Australia India Business Council, and joined the council of Bhartiya-Samaj Charitable Trust, advising on media and communications.

While her content is often rooted in millennial relatability, Michaela’s influence is multigenerational, thanks to her strategic, platform-specific storytelling. She has over 1.5 million social media followers and receives ~10M+ monthly views. She has hosted on TV Networks Channel 7 and Channel 10, and her music has been featured on radio world-wide.

Starting her media career by releasing original music while completing her studies at the University of Queensland, Michaela went on to achieve multiple No.1 Australian music singles, bringing her audience along for the behind-the-scenes journey of her life. Referred to by Australian media as, ‘Australia’s answer to Taylor Swift,’ Michaela’s seamless merging of her personal and professional life helped her cultivate a devoted following known as, Team Micks.

As her social media presence grew, so did international media opportunities. Michaela was subsequently recognised in Australia’s Top 50 Influencer Index and Brisbane’s Top 25 A-List Successful and Influential Women, and featured in prestigious outlets such as Rolling Stone and The New York Times. This momentum naturally led to her transition from full-time musician to full-time media personality.
